About

Hello! My name is Darren, and I’m grateful that you came to my site.

By writing on this blog, I’m going to show you how to gain business skills that will help you accomplish more in life.

A few years after graduating from college, I considered getting an MBA because like most people, I thought it’d get me more money and prestige. Besides, who wouldn’t want those nice fancy letters at the end of their name?

However, two big things were holding me back:

  1. I didn’t have the $100,000 to afford it, and
  2. I did not want to get into loads of debt that would set be back financially for years.

With that, I was looking for an alternative.

Since I developed a love for reading and self-education, I started seeking out good business books. Somehow, I stumbled upon two sites: The Personal MBA recommended reading list and The 100 Best Business Books of All Time.

Looking at these lists, I had a crazy idea. If I could devote myself to learning from those books and improving my skills on my own, I could skip business school but still get a great business education.

Isaac Newton once said, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”

My goal here is to study the books written by these “giants”, along with other interesting business books, and share what I’ve learned with you.
